All You Need Is Kjaerlight

Today is the Big Day for the Norwegian Vet and her All-American. Well, actually, the real big day was a few months ago on top of a mountain in South Africa, but none of their friends and family were around to take photos, so it practically doesn’t count.

We gathered at a beautiful church in the countryside.

The Norwegians attend weddings in their fantastic native costume.

Even the littlest Norwegians!

As we wait for the bride and groom we pass the time taking photos of ourselves!

Some of us are better at waiting than others.

The Norwegian Vet’s best friend plays a mean sax.

The happy couple!

Everyone loved the ceremony.
Here’s a shot of the All-American’s bro who serenaded us with classical guitar music. He’s a great musician. Probably genius if he wasn’t battling pesky hangovers.

Soon enough, the Norwegian Vet whisked away the All-American in a work of fine German craftsmanship.

Lucky guy!

The wedding reception was held in the family barn.

They’d clearly spent long hours getting the place in shape for a classy shindig. The place looked and smelled fantastic.

Speeches were spoken.
And special guests introduced.

At one point the bride and groom donned the traditional garb of a Middle Eastern party (or dinner, or shopping trip – these versatile outfits work for everything).

Once the All American started pouring whiskey shots my memories of the night become cloudy.

Although I do remember waking up next to him.

A certain Russian girl - who knows who she is - was to thank for that terrifying wake-me-up.

The next morning…or wait, it was the same morning, we had to get our act together for the wedding brunch taking place on a small island.

We made it to the ferry by the skin of our teeth.

Only to find we were the only ones there. Luckily, we’d just boarded the ferry at an earlier stop. We soon spotted the others at the next dock.

The lunch was delish, but a number of wedding goers missed the boat.

We lounged around looking much less lively than we had the day before.

The missing people show up! An hour or so late, but we were glad to see them.
The Norwegian Vet suggested we take a hike around the island and look for wild goats. But everyone seemed happy to just sit...far away from wild goats.

All too soon it was time to say ha det bra as we left the others to start a Norwegian adventure into the countryside.

Congratulations to the bride and groom!
